Welcome to The Feathered Edge!

Crazier than a pack of politicians! More tripe than a Mexican feast! Welcome to my little corner of the world. Here you will find stories about my life as a vet tech, paintings I do in my spare time, and other stories and things I have written. If you like them, keep coming back. Believe me, I've got more where this stuff came from.

   Friday Updates!
Double update this weekend in the True Tales section. One's sort of funny, the other is kind of serious but very important. Look for one to be posted today and one tomorrow. Also, I redid the paintings gallery and put a new painting in the Arts Section under "stuffs I have painted."
Look for the bright shiny button to find new things!

Okay, I'd better write something here so this space doesn't look so blank....um, all right. This bird to your left is a Quetzal, the national bird of Guatemala. The quetzal used to be thought of as nothing more than a legend, but these days they're just endangered.

Fun Facts About Quetzals!
It is illegal to remove a quetzal from the country of Guatemala.
Quetzals start out as brown fuzzy chicks.
The main food staple of their diet is wild avocados, swallowed whole. They regurgitate the pit later and spit it onto the ground, where a new tree will grow.
The Quetzal is a symbol of freedom and is on the Guatemalan  flag.
Quetzals cannot survive in captivity.
